full name. My name is Adokiye which in full is Adokiye Baralasa

friends or family?
ADOKIYE: Lol...well when I was in school some of my friends who could not
pronounce my name Adokiye used to call me ‘ i don't care’ so I'd say it
became my favourite nickname.

experience with music for the first time like?
ADOKIYE: My first encounter with music back in the days was thrilling as
growing up I loved songs by Onyeka Onwenu, Aretha Franklin, King Sunny
Ade, Lauryn Hill and Bob Marley. I used to sing along to their songs
even though I didn't really know the lyrics but I kept on singing along
till I got to know them well. And before I knew it my love for music
was unfolding and I found myself writing my own songs.

G.O.A.S.T:  As a child growing up, music surrounds us; what type of

used to hear growing up. But I'd say we are coming up to that level of
the legends of the old.... the likes of Tuface Idibia, Femi Kuti and
Lagbaja is an attestation to that fact. I believe we would all get
there in a matter of time.
Who can guess the expression on this face? A trial can earn you winnings!

growing up. For me I felt it's something one can start when the time
is right.

G.O.A.S.T:  How did you become involved in the type of music you
sing now?
Lights, camera, make-up, action!!!

MASE...we used to compose a lot of Afro R&B fusion kind of songs.

G.O.A.S.T: What did you do before you got into the music industry?
ADOKIYE:  I did and still do a lot of charity works which is a thing that had been part of
my lifestyle from my high school days. I also engage in architectural
works as that is the course I studied in school

G.O.A.S.T:  Do you feel the economic crunch has hurt the industry,
or do you have some other promotional tips to help support your music?
ADOKIYE: Well I feel the government needs to invest more in the music
industry as most of our artistes are now of international repute
thereby bringing in more revenue to the economy of the country as a
whole. This would help boost the industry and create an enabling
environment to help assist some artistes who may not have the funds to
furnish the requirements of their careers.

G.O.A.S.T: Brilliant! So, If you had the opportunity to change something about
the music industry what would it be?
